Bethel Blanton Tatum, born in Dawson County, Georgia on March 1, 1864. Son of Rev. Aaron Sheriff Tatum and Jane Elizabeth Johnson. Moved to Miami from Bartow, Florida in 1899 and purchased the Miami Metropolis. The Miami Metropolis was established by Henry Flagler, of the Florida East Coast Railway. Later Bethel (known as "B.B.") was associated with three of his brothers in the Tatum Brothers Company, a very influential real estate company in early Miami history. Married Mary R. (last name unknown) in about 1889 and Mrs. Letah Marshall Davis in St. Joseph, Buchanan, Missouri on October 18, 1908. No children by either marriage.
